Code of Conduct

Standards

All consortium spaces — including Discord, GitHub, and any other communication channels — are governed by these standards:

  • Be respectful and constructive. Disagree with ideas, not people.
  • No harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks. This includes but is not limited to unwelcome comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, or personal appearance.
  • Keep discussions technical and productive. We’re here to build tools, not to relitigate edition wars or hobby drama.
  • Respect IP boundaries defined in the IP Policy. Don’t share, link to, or encourage the use of pirated or scraped content.

Enforcement

Violations are handled with proportional responses:

  1. Informal warning — a private message from a Council member or moderator noting the issue.
  2. Formal warning — a documented warning with a clear description of the violation and expected behavior change.
  3. Temporary suspension — removal from consortium spaces for a defined period.
  4. Ban — permanent removal from all consortium spaces.

The severity of the response depends on the nature of the violation, whether it’s a first offense, and the impact on the community.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was made in error:

  • Contact a Council member via Discord DM.
  • Provide your perspective on the situation.
  • The Council will review and respond within 7 days.

All appeal decisions by the Council are final.
